About eight years ago I decided that I was tired of being on the financial treadmill, running as hard as I could but going nowhere; living living paycheck to paycheck. That’s when Mandy and I decided to plow full steam ahead with our get out of debt plan.
About that same time I decided that I’d also had enough of feeling like crap all the time. That’s when I decided to try out P90X.
Within three months I was well on my way to getting my finances in order, and I was in, without question, the best physical shape of my life. It was during this time that I began to see the parallels between personal finance and personal fitness.
Long before Get Rich Quick’ish existed I ran a fitness site where I shared my P90X experience. That site was far more popular than GRQ is today. Even though I’ve now run a fitness and finance blog, it should be easy for most people to see the similarities between the two things.
Actuary on Fire is another person that sees those parallels and today’s blog post comes courtesy of him. So without further ado, here’s Mr. AoF.
